Insidesource’s Product Reimagined program gives the architecture firm’s SF café a sustainable refresh and new purpose
The Huntsman Revival Project was a grassroots effort that began organically, through casual conversations with friends and colleagues. Huntsman Architectural Group is one of Insidesource’s leading interior architecture partners, and during a recent office visit we noticed a café area that had potential to be more than just a place to eat lunch. That’s when inspiration struck.

Working closely with the Huntsman team, we began brainstorming thoughtful ways to revitalize their café. A small space that had not been renovated in several years, the café had multi-purpose potential but little utilization.
Striving to connect, sustain and inspire, Huntsman’s work philosophy prioritize the human experience, overall wellbeing, social impact, and environmental stewardship. Paired with our mission to build a better future, it was the perfect project to serve as a pilot for Product Reimagined.
Product Reimagined is centered around revitalizing, refurbishing, and re-using furniture to reduce our environmental impact.
Before

For Insidesource, Product Reimagined is centered around revitalizing, refurbishing, and re-using furniture to reduce our environmental impact. It may come in the form of reupholstering long-loved pieces or reusing furniture in a new way. And in many ways, it’s a return to our early roots as a provider of pre-owned and refurbished office furniture.
Through our sister companies, GreenerSource and BetterSource, we cover the entire lifecycle of product. From optimization and reimagination, to donation, decommissioning, and recycling. Projects require significantly less transportation, which reduces pollution and lead times and strengthens relationships with local vendors.
The Huntsman café was completed in three weeks, concept to installation, giving new life to the space while saving furniture from the landfill. Product lead times were significantly reduced through local sourcing with BetterSource and features pre-owned furniture from top manufacturers, such as Allsteel, Davis, Coalesse, and Bay Area-based Corral.
After

Final touches were added to make the space feel friendly and welcoming. Accessories were found through local vendors, including San Francisco based STUFF, the largest vintage collective in the Bay Area, and LGBTQ owned Black & Gold.
Despite its modest size, the refreshed café has already become a meaningful hub of connection and community, elevating the Huntsman team’s daily office experience. For Insidesource, it was an exciting first step towards our goal to build a better future.
