Insidesource, Iwamoto/Scott and Brereton Architects considered a variety of human and community behaviors when designing the nine-story office for Twitch in San Francisco. The café, known as the office hub, is a multi-purpose area devised to engage the company’s mission of bringing the community together while offering a flexible work environment. Insidesource aimed to create a space that works like the Twitch platform, translating single or multi-player digital communities into a workable reality.
Variation and customization were fundamental concepts driving the holistic cafè experience
Custom banquettes by Martin Brattrud were created for the space, featuring removable hanging screens that can be adjusted for working alone or in teams. Establishing a sense of personal space in a large area, the café has become a favorite spot for Twitch employees and is also used to host All Company Meetings.
