Welcomed by the company’s tagline, “Laughter is the best cosmetic,” seen above reception’s white quartz and pink laminate desk by Creative Wood, we used this ethos as our guiding principle to tell Benefit’s ultra-branded design story.
from vintage-inspired space-age swivel chairs and a hot pink Roche Bobois sofa play off graphic 70’s inspired wall art and a saturated, candy-coated color scheme.
Pantone pinks and yellows almost identical to Benefit’s brand colors can be seen in textiles, paint finishes, and powder coats. Even the metal trim that lines the ends of communal wood café tables by Grand Rapids Chair Co. have a polished pop of perfect pink.
Working as partners with Benefit’s internal design team and our private label furniture collection Avenue, Insidesource created a design method to print one-of-a-kind designs onto upholstery. Through a process of trial and error (with a company normally equipped to print on clothing), we were able to align and print Benefit’s branded designs to fit almost perfectly with the accompanying furniture, resulting in one-of-a-kind iconic pieces and little waste from textile trimmings. With furniture life cycle in mind, Avenue’s custom upholstered pieces also came in the form of replaceable slipcovers. Our work on this project emerged not only a way to tell the ultimate brand story, but to expand on our own.
